More drama than a race week... yikes.

McLaren’s technical re-structure was implemented this week with the team claiming that this has been in progress for some months now. This restructure led to their technical director parting ways with the team however, given the teams recent lack of success and sitting comfortably at the bottom of the constructor’s championship the timing seems to be a little suspicious.

Max and Checo's rivalry doesn't appear to be going anywhere with the catalyst seemingly team orders in most, if not all flare ups. I mean, sure was the case in Brazil last season, and seemingly played a large role in the tense cool down room discussion between the pair after the conclusion of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Could Lewis be set for a defection to Ferrari at seasons end? While some may like to think so, I don't foresee it happening. Lewis earns more at Mercedes than Charles and Carlos combined and when compounded with Ferrari's reliability issues in their power train, I don't know if they can afford to sign him, and spend millions of dollars on a driver, who, no matter how talented, will not be able to perform to successful standard if they are struggling to complete a race. Besides this, Ferrari’s future has been built around Charles and his potential to win a championship, and they aren’t afraid to capitalise on the appearance of their drivers, and personally, I don’t think Lewis is the type to pose for a post-race ice bath thirst trap for the social media team.

On top of this, why would Lewis want to go? If he wants to earn his eighth drivers’ championship, he's not likely to earn one in the Ferrari they have produced over the last few seasons. Not unless something drastic is done over the course of this season to improve their reliability. However, his chances of success are also unlikely at Mercedes given the issues they have been trying to overcome last season, that seem to have tagged along to the W14. Ultimately, I believe, his decision will boil down to the upgrades both teams are able to produce across the season and the overall impact that these have on performance
